A Chinese man without any arms has stunned viewers on a TV talent show playing a piano solo using his toes.

Liu Wei, 23, earned a standing ovation after giving a flawless rendition of 'Mariage D'amour' on China's Got Talent, Sky News reported.

Mr Liu lost both his arms after accidentally touching a high-voltage wire while playing hide-and-seek as a 10-year-old.

Deciding at the age of 18 to become a professional musician, Mr Liu perserved to teach himself how to play the piano in secret.

"For people like me, there were only two options, — one was to abandon all dreams, which would lead to a quick, hopeless death," he said.

"The other was to struggle without arms to love an outstanding life."

He progressed to the next stage of the competition after the performance.
