An over-enthusiastic World of Warcraft fan has broken his leg in a dance competition at a gaming convention in the US.
Video footage shows the young man as he takes to the stage for the BlizzCon dance contest in California on Friday night wearing dark clothes and zombie-style face-paint.
The man introduces himself to the host, US actor and comedian Jay Moher, as “Daniel from Arizona,” and launches into the dance of his chosen category ‘Undead’.
He falls early into the bizarre head-thrashing routine and then gets up. But a second collapse leaves him grimacing and gesturing at his left knee in defeat.
Mr Moher initially jokes that the man has “tapped out,” before realising his injuries are serious and calling for medical assistance.
“We have a broken leg, no, no, he can’t walk, this is broken,” Mr Moher tells the stage hands who come to help the man.
Paramedics reportedly reached the injured dancer 10 minutes later.
BlizzCon is run by Blizzard Entertainment each year and features gaming competitions for World of Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo.
